Making Learning Work
A Family Guide to Supporting Your Child in Hybrid and Remote Learning
As many children across the country continue to participate in school via hybrid or remote learning, we are excited to share a resource to help families support their children’s learning and growth. Download these materials, which are available in English and Spanish.
How To Use The Family Guide
To use this resource, begin by watching a brief welcome video in English or Spanish. Next, read the introduction in English and Spanish, which asks a series of questions that will help you decide which pathway guide might be best for you and your family.
There are three pathway guides:
- Pathway 1: Work as a family to support your child's school participation.
- Pathway 2: Work closely with other families to support your child's school participation.
- Pathway 3: Find another schooling option that works for you and your child.
For each pathway, the guide includes checklists that help you both celebrate the ways you are already supporting your child and identify new ways to extend or deepen that support.
For more information on how to use these guides, visit our workshop series.
Together We Rise, Together We Thrive: Resources for High School Students
CPRL has also partnered with Minds Matter NYC and Student Voice to assemble Together We Rise, Together We Thrive. This motivational resource includes tips — from high school students to high school students — on how to finish the school year strong.
Want to share the resource on your social media channels? Check out the accompanying video series along with a social media toolkit.
Thanks!
Thank you to the more than 150 families, community organizers, family engagement leaders and staff members, and local and national education experts who supported the creation of these resources. This work would not have been possible without the tools and guidance produced by the organizations whose resources are linked and described throughout these resources. Thank you!
