Ashley Dalton

Ashley is an Associate Director of Research Strategy and Policy at CPRL. In this role and as a CPRL alum, she has supported projects related to educational equity, charter schools, and teacher recruitment and retention. Ashley has extensive expertise in law and policy governing special education, school funding, and inclusive educational practices. Before joining CPRL, Ashley was a Senior Staff Attorney at the Southern Poverty Law Center, where she led a lawsuit resulting in a systemic settlement agreement to prevent school pushout; litigated cases involving the educational rights of institutionalized and incarcerated youth; and supported local and national coalitions to prevent public school closures. Ashley also served as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and as an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the EdLaw Project of the Committee for Public Counsel Services. Ashley has a B.A. in history from Yale University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
