Jeta Donovan

Jeta Donovan is a Director of Legal Strategy and Consulting at CPRL. Jeta began her career as a NYC public school teacher and reading specialist. She went on to support teacher development as an instructional coach and teaching graduate courses in teacher preparation. She spent over 10 years at TNTP, supporting state and district systems to implement High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) and evidence-based literacy. She designed a course for over 30,000 teachers across the state of Tennessee on the Science of Reading. She led state-wide implementation networks on early literacy across Tennessee to support district-driven, system-level innovations in literacy. She led TNTP’s project management of NYC Reads and Solves, serving as a strategic partner to leadership in NYC public schools to transform literacy and math instruction and adopt HQIM city-wide. This work included designing a multi-year strategy, creating  tools and resources for progress monitoring city-wide implementation, and developing and operationalizing vision for professional learning for HQIM implementation. She holds a  B.A. from Rhodes College, a M.S. in Teaching from Pace University, and a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Learning from Fordham University.
